Wal-Mart joins the chase

The world's biggest retailer waded into the battle for Safeway yesterday with the promise of an all-cash bid if it can obtain clearance from the competition authorities.

Sumit Sudra ASDA shoud take over the safeway stores as this would increase competition and not lead to high prices. this is because they will have the same market share as tesco and the two companies compeating will have a massive impact on the way that prices and services are done. both companies wil create such competition to be the numbr retailer. 2/25/2004
