Mormons' strict rules run into trouble on Main Street

It is just one short stretch of road - 220 yards long - and until recently a little-known stretch too. It has turned into a battleground over two of Americans' most cherished rights: freedom of speech and freedom of religion, both enshrined in the first amendment to the constitution. Unfortunately, they are not necessarily compatible.

k.a this was a good article. i love reading about my own religion. i just wish more people in the world would be more considerate. if it doesn't belong to them then they should be grateful that the people who own it let them use it. and they should abide by the rules. 5/2/2007
Todd The Average "mormon" family has maybe 5-6 children, 10 is probably like 1 out of 15 families. This is just my opinion from actually living in Utah. out of all the families i have know while growing up in utah I know probably like 3 maybe 4 families that have 10+ children. So ya, I would have to say that the average is 5 to 6. 4/12/2007

S Rothas Where in the world did the author of this article get the idea that 10 - 12 children is "routine" in LDS families? The average number of children under the age of 18 per family in Utah is less than 2.5. That's only half a kid more than anywhere else in the country. I could count the number of families with 10-12 kids that I know on one hand. 9/8/2003
