Internet chat room operators should provide virtual panic buttons and prominent safety messages for child users to protect them from paedophiles attempting to groom their victims online, according to the world's first code of good practice published by the Home Office today.

Dangers In Teen Or Student Chat Rooms
Some of the dangers in students chat rooms are that strangers pretend there are your age and ask you for personal information like you address. Another Dangerous thing is viruses , you can get viruses from even sending a message to someone who already has the virus or you click a hyperlink that contains a virus. Also Hackers that can access your account and find out personal information like your phone number. You can also be bullied online just like some people are in real life. Sometimes computers use your email address for spam which is basically just junk. Some computers get you email address and from there they can find out your computer details and real stuff your computer up.
How Teens Can Avoid These Dangers
Teenagers can avoid this situation by only talking to people they know. Do not talk with randoms that claim they are your age because it could be and adult trying to get information off you. Also make sure you have a secure password that way hackers cant easily guess your password and steal personal information about you or your computer. If you get invited into a big conversation leave right away because people may get your email address and this can lead to spam. If you are being bullied in the chat rooms try and block the problem or just ignore them totally.
Teen Chat Safety Lessons At School
In my opion I do not think teen chat safety lessons should be taught at school. Maybe a lesson in IT could be focused on it and as a group discuss some positives and negatives etc. Even though some people don’t know this could be happening but most people would know some of the basics just spend a lesson about it in class or even make it a topic for a term. |

I think that the discription of you website is misleading, it stated that this would be a site where parents could have a chat room to discuss issues that they are having with their children and to get advice. In your articles you talk of the many perversions that are out there waiting for our kids yet you have " sexy singles" links and things of that nature on your page... maybe its time that some one created a safe place for children to go on the internet. |

I think more parents should have there computers in the living room so that the parent can see what there child is doing on the net. And also get chat room blocks on there computer so only the parent can have a password to go into the chat room when needed |
