Crape Myrtle Care

| Bill Stork | We have a number of well established Crepe Myrtle trees that were here when we moved in 2 years ago. They are over 20 feet tall and fom a shade barrier for a second story deck. The trunks are the size of an average mans forearm. We have lost one last winter and one this winter, and this troubles me. We live in the St. Louis, MO area. I can see where one was lost prior to us moving in. We love the trees and dread losing them. They are adjacent to a limestone driveway. Could the the soil be too alkaline? Should I fertilize? Any suggestions are welcome. | 5/13/2011 |
| Penny | I found your article helpful but I am still in a quandry as to why our crape myrtle, which we planted last year and which looks very healthy, has yet to produce one single flower (we live in northern Arkansas). | 6/18/2010 |
