P Alexander Timelines of when foods introduced in Greece is not accurate. Innacuracies abound. Alexander commissioned the first school of haute cuisine. Italian pasta does not come from the roman era, rather much later from rennaisance and after most likely. Skordalia is made from potatoes and these came from new world. Likely also many many european recipes and styles of cooking have been influenced by greek cooking and culture from ancient times; don't forget greece lost a lot of its culture in its period of Turkish domination-which brought in influences of its own. Europe and especially italy still has many heirlooms dating back to byzantine or ancient periods. Venice was after all, a byzantine colony 3/30/2012
