Hockey violence cuts no ice

I went to a fight the other night - goes the oldest joke in American sport - and an ice hockey game broke out. Well, something strange is happening in the most self-consciously masculine of all the team sports over here: when people go to watch ice hockey, that's what they are getting. Fighting is going out of fashion.

Pkonk Why is it a crime to assault someone everywhere but on the ice during a hockey game? 5/20/2009

hockeyman Hockey is the greatest and fastest team sport in the world and will trounce football (played with shoes on your feet, come on!), basketball (virtually race restricted), baseball (so slow), and anything else. It will take over the world like a giant alien tripod. Don't hide....go toward the hockey light. Just think, "Hey, what would the hanson brothers do?" 9/4/2006
go hockey... hockey rocks my world man if i was in hovkey....yeah lol and violence just sort of comes with the sport if you dont like violence find a new sport. 4/18/2006
doug stanley just a thought:
with the upcoming hockey gladiator event, perhaps as an indication of the foolishness surrounding hockey violence, darryl wolski and don cherry could open the event. 10 minutes of their best shots should convince them of their mutual folly

doug stanley with he upcoming "hockey fights" as presented by darryl wolski, I believe, hockey has been dealt another blow. mr wolski appears to have no regard for the impressionable youth, who hopefully, will only hear about this event. unfortunately there are those around who seem only to be attached to the underside of hockey, fighting. perhaps future generations will be able to get hockey back to a purer form. "unfortunately, little has been heard from organized minor hockey while mr wolski has been on his current rampage. made we should have taken up a collection for him to go away. oh well, eh, who really cares? probably the too silent "majority" 6/30/2005
