MO Girl Here are my thoughts on Nick and Jessica's Divorce!!!

"Jessica Still Not Grown Up???"

Marriage is really hard work...I think there is a tendency in our society just to give up on a marriage because it is convenient, it satisifies momentary needs (partying, fullfilling self etc...), or it makes other family members happy. Of course Nick and Jessica are stars and none of us really know what their life was like or what pressures surrounded them, but I have some ideas...

I believe Jessica married too young. She was looking for fullfillment in marriage when what she really needed were friends. If I remember correctly Jessica left high school early, was heavily influenced by her father, and then married Nick at 22. I am sure she didn't have time to go out with the girls, go to college parties (oh wait she didn't go to college), or just be a normal late teen to 20's kid. I think she needed to "sew wild oats" so to speak.

I dated a guy very seriously for three years, and I couldn't go out or do anything...I ended up breaking up with him and I couldn't have been more glad to have been out of the relationship...at last I was independent and able to make my own decisions...I was truly able to do my own thing. I needed that time because I wasn't mature enough for the type of committment I was involved in. Now I am happily married but I look back on that relationship and I couldn't believe how I acted unemotional going through the break up. My numbness during the break up and happieness to be out of the relationship was because I needed my own space, and I didn't feel the need to work out problems, because I truly wasn't mature enough.

To sum it all up Jessica probably just needs the experience that most everyone else has during college. After hanging with the girls for a while she will probably be ready for a marital committment again and it will probably be successful.

Unfortunately for Nick he is just going to have to suffer. You can't rush growing up and unfortunately he is suffering through Jessica's growing pains. Some people can handle a marital committment in their early 20's and some cannot. I think Jessica is just one of those people who was not ready for it.

Sorry for being so long winded but there are my thoughts!!

S. First of all I love Nick and Jessica. I believe the editing of the show can sometimes make it seem as if one or the other isn't happy. I wish them the best.
