J Miller ...if the courts are the problem, why hasn't Federer had knee problems? Sorry to say it's the way Rafa has played. MANY have wondered if he could maintain the brutality of his game. Apparently he can't. 6/28/2009
Carl I very much believe Rafa's knee issues were less a factor in his decision to skip Wimbledon, than the fact that his parents are separating. Rafa has stated over and over again that his family life is very important for him. He probably was having some problems with the knees, but he could no longer play through the pain because he lacked the mental power to do so. I am pretty sure that when Rafa gets over the shock and has rested his knees, he will come back with a hunger that could be even more voracious than what we have seen so far.
