bwcason you are absolutely right mr. bauer i hadn't read your article before, and am a long-time fan of wrestling(no matter fake or not). this the reason the death rate among wrestlers is on the rise, wheither people believe it or not these guys enjoy the attention this business illicits them. they put their bodies/families/morality on the line to keep satisfying the fans, take that away from them as some of these creative teams on the networks have done and responsibilities or not these men feel they have nothing to offer. the lack of appreciation and their hold on reality couple that with drugs and alcohol the damage is great. a couple of older wrestlers had tried to start a union for the younger ones, but were blackballed by the giants and threatened that the little exposure they get in the public to make extra income(autograph sessions/movie/books) the ability to work in independents(promoters don't want problems with what they have if say vince say don't work this guy these men listen because they fear him). so they back down and the carnage continues, and the unemployment continues; until like i tell my kids who like wrestling like me there will be no one left except the old guys. 4/7/2008
Jay Diego I know it was posted years ago, but I just stumbled across this article. Really good stuff, and spot on. I'm a former wrestler myself. 3/26/2008
