mar-neshia I feel that death penalty is very wrong and selfish and disrespectful to other people becuse it dosen't make any of us better when we allow death penalty to go on, we just like the murders. I say give them another chance to live but in prison dont kill them, their friends and family expect to visit him or her not to find out that their love one is dead. if it was me to find out about one of my family members gone i would have had a huge fit 9/4/2011
Malik Golston I strongly believe that the crime rate is going up by the day. And to me the death penalty is the proper punishment. I believe if the death penalty is thrown in cases more often then people would think twice before making a bad decision. So in my opinion yes the death penalty is the appropriate punishment for crimes. Maybe the rate of crime will go down because people will know what will happen. 8/27/2011

Esmia Considering now that DNA is readily available to prove or disprove the action and completion of a crime, such as murder regardless of the intent, rape, kidnapping, child abuse in any form, then capitol punishment is a given. Why should we take care of people such as the man and wife who kidnapped E. Smart? He is guilty, proven beyond doubt, he deserves the punishment of death in what ever manner. It is cost effective and there need be no appeals to his sentence. It would be a waste of time and money and the outcome is the same. He is guilty he deserves the death penalty. He knew what he was doing, otherwise he would not have tried to hide Ms. Smart and himself. In a time when funds are limited to every state and county etc. to keep this person alive, give him medical treatment, housing, clothes, nursihment etc. is in itself a crime. A crime against the people who would pay out their own pockets for the keep of such a person who God may forgive, however why should we pay for his keep till God calls him home?
