As of 2010, for example, Canada has three official desert regions, is actually eighth on the UNHD index not first, and was not the original place of invention for the zipper.		 11/10/2010

I believe 'Spirit Sands' in Spruce Woods Provincial Park, Manitoba, is also categorically considered a desert, at least by "Canadian desert region" standards... Either way it's an incredible place to visit and explore so I highly recommend it.		 8/13/2010
