Rebecca Nurse - Salem Witch Trials

| huebie | Short and to the point. Really appreciate the actual transcripts of documents, as Rebecca Nurse is my great x8 grandmother. However, it was my understanding that the trials in Salem ended in September of 1692 and only 19 or 20 people were put to death. In addition it was in 1712 that the pastor formally cancelled the excommunication of Rebecca. Your article indicates that the trials continued until 1712 and that hundreds were put to death. Could I please get clarification on this? Thank you. And thank you again for your article. | 6/3/2011 |
| Barbara Smith | Rebecca Nurse is my cousin by marriage , and many generations removed.. It makes me sick that such horrors occurred, and from all I have read about her and Mary, children of Joanna Blessing, they were very honorable and pious women. They showed such courage - I could never have! What little I have learned about their part in the Salem Witch Trials comes from a family genealogy book titled "History of John Taylor of Hadley." Thank you for this awesome, detailed information. I appreciate your contribution very, very much. | 3/9/2011 |
| Rashida | At Sayali: Thankyou! At Mr. Joe Cirello: Yes, i agree that the Salem Witches stood for what they believed in! Hence, I have a lot of respect for these women! |
