fred simple comment the pros have evedence to back their answers and the cons say what they think,what they belive, what could happen, and so on with no conclusive evidence about their answers. sounds like a law made from on a bunch of hear say to me"great"! since i looked and found the cons to be the minority in this forum i can only conclude that they are not convinced of their ignorant opinions, or that marijuana is kept illegel so that "crooks" can make a very large profit from it, on the streets and from "medical" marijuana. i think i'll go for both! 12/23/2010

The drug used in hospitals is fine yes but since it is a medince do we sel medcate when not needed? oh yes drug abusers do. Luke Shea All of the Cons are in no way reasons for marijuana to be illegal. There have been no accounts of deaths caused by marijuana or second hand smoke from marijuana. Cigarettes and alcohol have killed millions of people and they are legal. Do the math 11/2/2010

Coffee, donuts and pizza may be harmful to us if not taken in moderation, but it doesn't affect those around us in a negative way as does smoking for example. I know we have a right to do certain things as we please, but I honestly think that marijuana should only be allowed for medical purposes. Someone from NY If we legalized Today- Cartel Crime would disappear? Don't be so sure-- I don't think the South American and Mexican Cartels will suddenly 'drop the business'. They are already heavily invested in protecting their turf. It may be possible that they will have even MORE reason to fan out and 'kill off' the competition so that only their weed is on the market. So a lot of the 'Free Growers' here in the US could wake up in the morning to raging fires on their growing property. 6/27/2010

Anonymous I think the fact that marijuana is illegal is absolutely ridiculous. It has been proven to have great medical benefits, of course in moderation. And many times, consumption of alcohol and cigarettes are often much worse than consumption of alcohol. Many people also feel that no one will have motivation to do anything, but this is far from the truth. The only people that will be sitting around doing nothing, are the people that would have been doing the same without use of the drug. Ambitious people are able to overcome the lethargic feelings, if that is what they desire to do. I am 18 years old, and I smoke it frequently. I am headed off to college graduating with honors and participation in two honor societies. It affects you in relation to your personality. 6/4/2010

JOCELYNE Well marijuana is great let me tell you that! Some people think just because marijuana is a drug that its no good. Well there you have it, WE NEED WEED! Like they mention on the article, yes it has medical benifits and yes it would help out on our economic problem. Many people already use this drug illegaly so why not make it legal. Maybe someone you know is drug user, and if you vote yes it would risk the chances of the person you love from getting a ticket or arrested even encarcerated. There will be a voting held in November 2010 in California which would allow residents over the Age of 21 to posses, sell, and grow their own "garden" of Marijuana in a 5 by 5 foot space.

anonymous If alcohol and tobacco is legal then why cant marijuana be. alcohol causes liver cancer and other disfunctions of the body. As well as tobacco can also to cause cancer in the lungs and stomach from all the harmful things they put in cigarettes.
