Tina My mare was diagnosed with cushings disease at the age of 8 years old, the signs where recurring lamimitis, bulging eyes and excessive urinating, my vet initially refused to do a blood test as she said that she was too young, I seeked a second opinion and I am glad I did the test showed she had cushings, she was put on 1mg of Pergolide to be taken in the morning, that was last October, unfortunately this September she had a sudden bout of Laminitis, we retested her bloods and they showed high levels of ACTH, my vet has increased her pergolide to 2 mg per day. My mare looks amazing she has the shiniest coat but is very poorly, if you would like to see photos and know more about our journey then please let me know. 10/6/2010
