I'm going to have to agree with Kea, the rest of you people are kinda dumb when it comes to math, if you do the math properly it works out the way she's done it. I guess this really proves that women are better than men when it comes to math. LOL |

LOL, you cannot do math! the guys paid 30 but got back 5.. 30-5=25... They took back $1 each.. 25+3=28 and they left the remaining $2 for the mad. 28+2=30! Lol... But the way you did it really gives you $29.00 instead of $30.00 |

you're just doing the math wrong. Each guy spent a total of 9 dollars, which means, in TOTAL, they paid 27 dollars. The other 3 dollars, are in the pockets of each of the guys. If they got a 5 dollar discount, that means they paid 25 dollars for the room, not 30. which means, they each paid 8.3 dollars for the room (8.3 * 3 = 25 approx). Now, if they tipped 2 dollars (which btw seems kinda cheap) that means each of them paid around 66 cents for that. (.66 * 3 = 2, aprox) 25 + 2 = 27. which of course, means the other 3 dollars were split up, and divided. IN CONCLUSION. they paid 9 dollars each, including tipping the guy. NOT 9 dollars, plus tip. |

The reason that this happens is because they were only given back 5 dollars instead of 6... meaning that 2 guys technically took 2 dollars and 1 guy only 1.when the two guys that had the money left over gave it to the room service guy they were actually left with 8 dollars instead of 9 like the other guy. 8x2+9=25 plus the other 5 dollars make up 30. the only problem was how you approached in solving this question. |

someone needs alesson in algebra here and its not me they pay 30 get 5 back so dats 25 spent. 2$ is given to the room service guy so dats 27 spent. 30 - 27 is 3 which eas the 3$ split between dem so the get 1$ each duh :0 |

Total Rent= $30 Individual Rent =$10 Total Concession=$5 Individual concession = 1.67 Actual Rent =$25 Individual Rent= $8.33 MOney back = $1 So the amount = 8.33 + 1= $9.33
They seem to have spent only $9. From whose pocket did $0.33 come? |

They pay 30$ out of which 5$ was a discount. So the sum is 25$. 25$ / 3 people comes to 8.34. They take back 1$ each. Now the total is 9.34$. When this amount is multiplied back into 3. the total is 28$. And the tip is 2$ so the calculation is right. Each one is spending 9.34$ instead of 9$. This is the only answer for the same...HaHaHa |

When the guys contribute $9 each it comes to $27 which includes the $2 that are given as a tip to the room service. the remaining $3 have been divided in between them, $1 each. hope you have some better explanation if you disagree ;-) |
