Raymond J. The continuity of the Assyrian people from ancient times to this very day is well attested in history.
You write that Simo Parpola is "well financed", by whom?

The great Assyriologist Simo Parpola, in the introduction to his most recent book (2007), he writes, "Many Assyrian features [Akkadian] still survive in the phonology, morphology, syntax and lexicon of the Neo-Aramaic dialects spoken in the ancient Assyrian heartland by the descendants of ancient Assyrians, the modern Assyrians".
He continues, "Probably one of the best indicators of the depth of this linguistic integration, the symbiosis and eventual merger of Assyrian and Aramaic, is that in later Greek usage, Aramaic language and script were commonly referred to as 'Assyrian language and script'."

Raymond Simo Parpola, is your biggest stumbling block. He has singlehandedly discredited your 'Aramaean' dream.
You seem like a frustrated old men screaming out to the world.
Assyria, Assyrians are your biggest fear. Because like me born into a Syriac Catholic family, I have discovered my Assyrian roots, thanks in large part too Parpola.
We are Suryoyo that is the name we have always called ourselves not 'Aramaens'. 'Suryoyo' is a direct descended of the word 'Assurayu' and that is something that you cant put aside.
