Heidi The flea medicine, that we had gotten from the vet had stopped working and there were a lot of fleas on our Chihuahuas, for many months. They kept scratching themselves, and had sores all over their backs, because of the fleas. We finally found a new flea medicine for our Chihuahuas, but they still have some fleas.

My silky, long-haired Chihuahua first started sneezing 2 months ago. Sometimes, it seemed like she could not stop sneezing. She is sneezing right now. My Chihuahua, "Heidi", is still hungry, but she makes a choking sound when she eats her food, especially dry food. So I have been feeding her canned dog food, mostly. 2 months ago, "Heidi" was just sneezing all the time. Now she acts like she cannot breathe right, and her nose is wet, and she makes a choking sound all the time. She still sneezes all the time, too. She also cannot sleep sometimes, because she cannot breathe right. But she still likes food, except that it hurts her to eat dry food.

kfw If your vet even suspects pneumonia-make sure they do the xray and blood work- this just might save your animal. We just put our dog down because the vet did not do the proper procedures to see how much damage was done due to aspiration pneumonia. He sent him home with meds that did not work 6/17/2009
