lazur "According to surveys, approximately 3.1 million people had enjoyed television in America in the '50s.." ? WRONG! No such survey. 1ST DAY OF '50: 3.1 TVs in US homes. Average family: 3.34 = 10,664,000 resident viewers "experienced television". Family next door comes over = 21 MILLION. By the END OF 1950, between 6 & 8 MILLION TVS = between 40 & 55 MILLION viewers. September 6, 1956, SIXTY MILLION PEOPLE watched ONE SHOW: Elvis on Ed Sullivan. By the end of 1959 there were 42 MILLION TVs= 140 MILLION amerincas who "experienced television" in the 1950s! 2/18/2011

George Lucas I have always been fond of television growing up as a small boy watching father knows best, I guess that inspired me to produce American Graffiti which led to directing star wars episodes 4,5 and 6. 10/3/2010
