Derek: I'd never heard of Silverstein, so I ran a search on him. I found a list of poems and none of the titles sounded similar to Unplayed Melodies. Perhaps the list was incomplete. I do not read poetry and I hardly read any contemporary writing at all. If you find the poem online, please let me know its title. I'd like to take a look at it. Please note that the story has been at buzzle since 2/9/01, so if Silverstein's poem appeared after that you have proof positive it wasn't "stolen." I read that he had a long career and has passed away, so it's possible he wrote his piece decades ago. Best wishes. |

This looks like it was almost entirely based on a Shel Silverstein poem by a similiar name. Kindof a rip-off... |
