Dog Dry Skin - Tips and Treatments

Shiny coat is a sign of healthy pet. Dogs can have all sorts of skin problems and they range in severity from benign to very serious. Any dog can have dry skin; it is not an exclusively human condition. Just like us, dogs need good skin care to prevent itching and flaking.

maya wickstrom Hot water and kibble? Kibbles are totally without beneficial enzymes and (too warm or too long) storage makes the fatty acids turn toxic, hot water will destroy the rest of whatever nutrients were left.. After some years the dog will start showing digestive problems (Crohn or thyroid etc) or heart problems (sodium/potassium ratio) or joint problems (not enough quality protein)
I suggest one might want to research BARF for the benefit of our pets. No grains and not too much veggies, preferably dark leafy salads occasionally, grasses which the dog eats naturally for fibers and other purposes ( B-17) and for optimal calcium/phosporus ratio: enough of fresh raw meaty bones (50% meat-50% bone) from organic farmed hooved mammals for best (longer-chained fatty acids with grassfed) bio-availability. NOT the hardest bones (leg) and not old dried ones. Raw egg yolk is good as first aid to recover from malnutrition. If the dog don't eat it as such, don't forcefeed or hide it in a bizarre porridge. Good luck!
