| Jeremy | Obviously written from someone who lives in a city. Most people who live in rural areas have a higher standard of living than those in urban area. Everything costs less in rural areas especially housing because there is less general demand. Therefore people in rural areas have more expendable income. In the 21st century there are few places, especially in the U.S. that don't have access to all of the same technology that is available in the city. Rural dwellers have a self-sustainable lifestyle. Urbanites are always dependent on something or someone. When there is a natural catastrophe, for example, people in the city suffer because more people are effected in a concentrated area. Ever visited a 7-11 after a flood in a city? | 3/14/2011 |
| anonymous | "Rural are the ones where humanity is still alive" to be corrected rural areas are where fake humanity is alive, unlike in urban areas where people don't have time to waste with fake friends. In rural areas you socialize with a bunch of so called friends but once you turn your back everybody starts bad mouthing you as much as they can. Oh and privacy completely goes out the window, EVERYBODY has to know EVERY single detail about you so they can gossip about it with everybody in town. Rural areas are also very shelted, as in people have no idea what life is like out side of that town so people make shelted assumptions about people they've never met before, and people from rural areas usually don't know how to act around minorites or are surprised when they see a minority that doesn't fit their shelted stereotype. But hey if fake acquantencies and hiding from the real world is your thing thing rural life is definately for you. The rest of us have taken a reality check and moved on the city. | 3/10/2011 |

| Keith Gascoine | My wife and I enjoy the best of both worlds. We live just 30 minutes from Canberra, the capital city of Australia, on 120 acres of peaceful farmland. We have ready access to our local village, Bungendore, just 10 minutes away. It is difficult to find fault with this type of rural/ urban living. It's great. | 2/15/2011 |

| Summer | I mean, how do you know rural areas are "deprived of luxury and technology"? God, do some research before insulting the rural community. I guess if an urban idiot can say that rural people are deprived of the life of luxury, we rural folk can say urban people are deprived of their sanity and their morals. | 11/14/2010 |
| yamama | While I agree that rural areas have less pollution and are not overcrowded, I disagree that there is an absence of technology and/or luxury. | 11/14/2010 |
| andrea | wow thanks u helped me answer my exams well | 10/26/2010 |

| Narhalie | First of all , the rural community benefits from the same technology as the urban community. We have visited many place , many rural communities , and they compete with many urban communities in terms of technonogy .We cannot say they are "deprived of ..technology" this days. When was the last time you visited a rural community? things have changed ! Moral values are the same for people who believe in them.It does not matter where they live.It is about commitment, faith and believes. We can be who we choose to be, regardless of where we live. |

| Lunga1 | This is an interesting article. I am actually at this point in my late 20s and I grew up in rural areas of South Africa. Life there was slow paced, fair and I had enjoyed every bit of growing up there without competition and rushing. I then moved to the city when I came to tertiary and that was the past 10 years to date. I am now fully employed and enjoy the fruits of my career but there is a BIG but. I am extremely tired of the rush; unfriendliness, less humane humans - call it a BURNOUT. I have two kids and I am now CONFUSED - I do not know where to build my house but one thing i know - I don't want to live in a city or suburb - I need a place where my kids can grow freely and there are risks and costs associated with living in the urban area. Rates and taxes are so high say you decide to build. If you buy, you are in for it But basically, I do not see it as a safe option because if anything happens to you - your little kids might be affected by administrators say they default on payments. Rural area continues to be my best favorite. Your property is fully built, not owing anyone - your future grandchildren will continue living in it - safely. It feels more like a home rather than a house in the urban area. I thus feel there is more disadvantages living in the urban area than a rural area. Who said one cannot have the luxury of living in the rural area? Thanks to the technological advances but I do believe: Internet's 3G is these accessible in many places; electricity is almost everywhere; rates and taxes are extremely low; there is always peace; you can install your satellite dish there as well. As such, one can live a luxurious life in the rural areas. Through this - you get to taste a benefit of both rural and urban luxury. Lunga - mcgeelanga skype |

| Unknown | Good information. Liked it a lot! | 4/22/2010 |
| nthabiseng | It was clearly indicated the major points and I was glad about that. | 4/18/2010 |
| Joan Libarios | The article is substantive and clearly shows the contrasts of the two types of living. However, an additional discussion of the political views of people living in rural and urban areas would be very helpful. It should also be considered that urban areas also vary among their kind, the same as with the rural areas. A comparative analysis would b a very intelligent contribution. | 4/17/2010 |

| JJ | And in no way are rural people deprived! If anything, urban people are deprived of their sanity. | 12/3/2009 |
| JJ | I liked it kind of. Its nice to know that someone else agrees with me that rural is better, but where are your statistics? | 12/3/2009 |
| brandon | I AM LOOKING FOR SPECIFIC INFORMATION | 4/2/2009 |
| Joe S | I think that this article is slightly biased towards urban living. It is also oppinianted as far as the "people" aspect of it. | 3/13/2009 |
| ruralguy | have you ever been to a rural area? This article is in no way truthful for either side of this two sided "coin." I have lived in a rural area my whole life and we are not deprived of technologies or luxuries like the "city folk." I suggest next time that more research is put in to writing an article comparing things. | 2/27/2009 |
| Love your work | keep up the good work :) thanks! | 2/25/2009 |
| Usman | you helped me with me homework dude just give more advantages for rural | 2/24/2009 |
| SLM | I was looking up the negative impact connected to rural life particularly from some one coming from urban life. I can now say from experience that rural living is not necessarily as stress free as one would think. The isolation, same faces everyday and trust me even stressful job in the rural community, I have found I am feeling terribly boxed in if you can believe it. |
