Andrea Trescot My iPhone just froze in phone mode - I can call and search contacts, but the home button won't work. I have tried resynching (nothing), holding down the sleep button (nothing), holding down the home button (nothing), holding them both down (the Apple logo frozen). Suggestions? 2/22/2009

J. wells I purchased an Iphone one week ago. I got an ITunes account so I could have access to apps. When I first logged onto iTunes I was informed that a new software update was available for the phone ver 2.2 and began a download. The process went as expected until the verifying software popup was shown. The computer an (IBM) was taking a very long time (hour +) and I look at the task manager the program was not responding and had to restart the machine. When I logged back on the computer and connected the phone which was now unusable. I was prompted that I had to restore the original settings and clicked restore. I am now sitting well or 2 hours into this process watching verifying iphone software screen.
This would seam to be a very unstable product in my opinion. Not sure what to do with my unusable phone at this point in time.
