The Problem with Women's Self-Defense Classes

Women's self-defense classes, seminars and videos are short-changing women. The idea that women can learn to defend themselves against men, without training with men, is simply false.

Scott Yes, what the guy is saying is absolutely true, i am a kung fu instructor, and at the moment i have only one woman un the class, she has been there for about 5 years now, and she can handle herself, even though she is tiny, but that is due to tough training week in week out with the rest of the guys. 9/28/2009
bluerose Having training in Military Martian art SAMBO, I have only one advice. The best self-defense is; to avoid a conflict. The real self-defense technique is illegal because they first teach you how to kill, and after how to defend yourself. There are many techniques as:
Krav Maga (Israel), ROSS, SAMBO and SPETNAZ (Russia), San Shou (China) and more. Those techniques put the aggressor in a danger throwing, locking and choking sequence, finalizing with a dragon kiss. In the street fight there are no rules, no arbiters to stop the fight, one survive the other die. The goal is to TERMINATE THE ENEMY.
To fight an aggressor is a dangerous enterprise, same as climbing a rock without a rope. One mistake and you die. You have to be physically fit, trained how to control anger, fear, when and how to attack, half of second delay is deadly. To be a SPETSNAZ fighter, you need a minimum 5 years training. The best is 3 years to understanding and five more to master. Don’t be self confident, if you don’t want to be surprised. Legally you use pepper spray to repel the aggressor, and he will attack again and finish you. With SAMBO, using an X or C lock, put him down in a throwing sequence, with the death lock (enemy face down with both arms flexed behind), finalized with blinding him or breaking his neck or choking him. Choking mean to cut the blood stream from carotid arteries.
Kicking and hitting hard, at the sensitive spots … and there are more … and more…
