samir sinha Well written. Pls provide scientific names of all the species mentioned.Further check on the data mentioned. E.g. "out of more than 2900 species 600 are venomous"...; elsewhere "of 2950 as of 2007 only 450 are venomous"... 10/22/2011
jaco agree! but the world most feared snake is the black mamba size, speed, and aggression is something every one should know. the taipan will flee if you get near the black mamba will attack the world record bite of the taipan is 110 mg the black mamba can easily pump 400mg into its victim. so if you have a glass of mampoer 80% alcohol 110ml and brandy of 25% alcohol 400ml and you drink that which one will have the biggest effect? 4/18/2011

gingerfleming I live in, Mexico. Here we have a snake they call a, Cordillo it is Black and red it has a neurotoxin venom. It's size is only about 12in to 15 in. but it is deadly. I never see any mention of this snake anywhere. Are you aware of it. 10/3/2010
Shane The most deadliest snake in the world is actually the Black Mamba. The Inland Taipan is the most venomous, but even the Black Mamba can top it by the amount it can deliver in one shot. The largest venom ever recorded by one shot of the Taipan snake was 110 mg where as the Black Mamba can deliver 400 mg in one shot. Also it being the fastest and most ferocious makes it that much more dangerous. Another note is that the Black Mamba is not far behind the Taipan for being the most venomous. 9/18/2010

Mikie Baldwin I personally LOVE snakes Im not scared of them one bit. But I think I would be scared if the most venomous snake was in my backyard...for once I would scream for my mommy. But it's good to hear that it wasnt killed cuz it was minding it's own business. I think the zoo would have to be the best choice for the little guy. Well later 4/16/2009
Katilyn Hoggard what about the python? Is it a venomous snake like the tiger snake and the king cobra? I thout that the most posinous snake in the world was the python and now i`m comefused. 1/7/2009
Mycak'nazzia Thank you for the info. on snakes! It really helped! 11/6/2008
Leah Venomous snakes are often said to be poisonous, although this is not the correct term. Poisons can be absorbed by the body, such as through the skin or digestive system, while venoms must first be introduced directly into tissues or the blood stream through mechanical means. 10/6/2008
