I still thing that Edwin Edwards was the best goveronr of Louisiana.He did things his way and he was allm for the people of louisiana. If my mother was alive she would be the first inline to vote him back into office. I WISH I COULD MEET THE MAN IN PERSON I WOULD LOVE TO JUST HOLD HIS HAND AND TELL HIM ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER HE WOULD LAUGH SO MUCH . MY BROTHER WOULD ALWAYS SAY IF EDWIN EDWARDS WAS GOVERNOR WHEN THE KATRINA AND RITA HIT LOUISIANA THINGS WOULD HAVE RAN MUCH BETTER PEOPLE WOULD NOT STILL BE LOOKING FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I WISH HE COULD SEE THIS LETTER AND WRITE BACK TO ME I WOULD BE SO HAPPY JUST TO HERE HIS VOICE. HE IS STILL A GREAT MAN IN MY EYES THANKS TO MY MOTHER GOD BLESS HER HEART. |

I really don't care what accusations are said about Edwin Edwards. He was and still is a wonderful person. While in office, no person was too small to call and make an appointment and meet with him and ask for him advice or help. I asked, he helped. He gave a close friend of mine a Pardon, while her District Attorney in New Orleans could do nothing. She was in St. Gabriel Prison serving a 5 year term, within 48 hrs of my visit with him, she was home with friends and family. Have you ever attempted to contact or speak directly to an elected Politician? It is almost impossible. I still keep my political friends. You never know when and where you or a loved one will need advice or help. Edwin, ol' man, your friends are still there for you. I only wish I knew (maybe ask the new president (After Bush) for a Presidental Pardon for him. This is something his wife or daughter should be discussing. My prayers and thoughts are with the entire family. |

KEEPING HIM LOCKED UP AND IT'S WAY PASSED TIME TO SET HIM FREE. HE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN LOCKED UP IN THE FIRST PLACE! I KEEP IN REGULAR CONTACT WITH HIM AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, HE IS NOT BITTER ABOUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HIM. HE JUST LOOKS FORWARD TO THE DAY HE CAN WALK OUT A FREE MAN.
