What is a Narcissist?

All of us have narcissistic TRAITS. Some of us even develop a narcissistic PERSONALITY. Moreover, narcissism is a SPECTRUM of behaviours - from the healthy to the utterly pathological (known as the Narcissistic Personality Disorder, or NPD).

Tarnabit This paraphrasing of DSM4 guidlines is problematic because it seems to make stuff up. For instance there is no mention of narcissitic forms of abuse, but there are statements like narcisists view others as cartoons, that creates a misleading idea of narcissists. Of course, someone could characterized my comments as narcisstic, and the term should not be rendered useless by applying it to near eveeryone, even if it helps the therapist bill insurance. 9/3/2009

gene willis, people say that narcissits hate weomen only. are you sure thats the only reason, or are the specialists unable to dig deeper into the true depths of a narcissit.i know what it,s like never to have any type of relationships.people who have had the joys of falling in love,enjoying a intimate relation is somthing i myself never realized. it,s easy to explain an illness without further resech thats why this narcissit websites are deadlocked in agreements,no room for futher resrch.if you want understanding of it,s like nver to have loved in you,r entire life, go without sex for atleast 2 years and put all you,r girl watching and flierting on hold around you,r friends and you,r family. then after you experiance some of these wounderful feelings, then come back and write you,r annalogies on these website. i chalange any or all who dare, chances are,like the narcissits you condem for weakness, people such as you,r slfes could,nt handle it on you,r worst days. 8/18/2003
