Try to keep off your feet as much as possible and the leg should be kept in an elevated position.Swelling and warm knee is expected after surgery, but its better to consult the associated orthopedic surgeon so he can best assess the situation.

Diane I had arthiscopic knee surgery to clean out torn cartilage on June 24, 2008. It has been almost a month and I have more swelling now then before and my knee is hot to the touch. Could I have an infection and what can be done about it. I am in extreme pain - especially getting up and down from a sitting position. 7/20/2008
