The Return of the Water Powered Car

Sound like something from a science fiction novel, or perhaps even the Jetsons? Do you think it could never happen, just another Cold Fusion dream? You have to admit, it would be cool. Go to the hose to fill up your water powered car, instead of the gas station at $3.50 per gallon. It is closer than you think.

Mark I appreciate your comment Ann. I have a question. Do you know how much water was destroyed making the keyboard you are using? The plastic is refined and processed petroleum. Water was used to drill it. Water was used to process it. Water was used to cool the machines that formed it. Water was used in the paint for the keys. Water was used to make the plastic and paper packaging. Water was used to make the truck, tires, and road that got it to the store. The list could go on forever.
Here is the major difference. The water used for your keyboard is now chemically tainted. It can not be used as potable water for 1000's of years, if ever. The water used in the system above is released into the atmosphere as pure water vapor. All it needs is some rain and it is recycled.
My point is this, water is not the end all solution. But it is a fantastic start. And it sure beats the pants off of petroleum.

Ann Not so sure about the water thing. Water, like food, has become a precious commodity for humans and animals alike. Don't think we should put our water supply in our gas tanks, same goes for biofuel. Feed the car, don't feed the people? 5/12/2008
