| Hope It Helps | It's 2008 and literate people are still repeating these rumors as facts. Here are some real facts: 1) Tibet did not lose independence in 1949, it lost that many centuries before that. In modern times, there is no country in the world that has ever recognized Tibet as an independent country. Lying about history doesn't change the facts. I hope that puts the matter to rest. 2) China has anywhere between 40 and 140 million Christians, 20-100 million Muslims and a load of other religious believers. Why is the government picking on Falun Gong while it tolerates everyone else? I think maybe Falun crazies are not telling you the whole story. |

| Roy | Agreed... but this is just the case of the greater bad eclipsing the lesser bad. As far ast the nitty gritties of the religion are concerned, they can and always will be discussed... and of course, then comes the thing about people having their own decisions. But when you read about the various horror stories of China torturing Falun Gong members (particularly women), you will turn a Nelson's eye to the happenings inside Falun Gong. | 5/10/2008 |
| Sean Ryan | I agree with the fact that people should have the freedom of choosing their religion or belief, no matter how idiotic or morally wrong it is or it may seem. in regarding to Falun Gong, practice chi gong as a means of work out and relaxation in itself is a good thing, however, it has become heavily politically involved, far more than it really should. As a religion/practice, i don't have anything against besides the fact that it forbid its practicianers to use medicin when they are sick; however the political motivation is what I think is wrong. because religion and politics should not mix, or else it does not have any difference to Communism that they claim who are killing them. just my 2 cents |
