mark always tell the gallery that I am dealing with or the customer that I am perfectly willing to revarnish the work in six months if they wish, however I have been selling for many year now and have never had any one take me up on this offer, retouching varnish has a long shelf life and will only come off if you go at it with turps or white spirit, many people I have sold work to have told me that they have revarnished the work themselves, as it is not brain surgery and involves buying a small bottle of varnish and a brush, and some have had the frame maker do it if the work has been reframed, although personally I think they payed for something they could have done themselves in 2 minutes,
Its like when they pay to get dents out of paintings that have been leant on. Most professional artists know that if you wet the back of the canvas the painting will dry and stretch out the dent in a few minutes
