| Mandollyn | The photograph is NOT of a Boykin Spaniel. Boykin Spaniels are ONLY Chocolate to Dark Liver in color. | 9/18/2011 |
| Carole T | The Boykin did become recognized by the AKC and competed in conformation as well as many other AKC events in 2010 and was introduced to the world at Westminster in Feb 2011 | 5/30/2011 |
| Carole Thomas | This photo is of a really cute spaniel of some sort BUT it is NOT a Boykin Spaniel ! All Boykin Spaniels are Chocolate brown and have adark brown nose. You need a photo of a real Boykin. If you would like one, I can provide it. | 5/30/2011 |
| Joe S | All I can say is that IS NOT a Boykin that you have in that picture. | 1/18/2010 |
| Boykin Fan | That is no Boykin... it's definitely a Cocker. And here's hoping the AKC passes the Boykin by. They're fantastic little brown dogs who do not need the national breeding attention and fouling up the AKC would inevitably bring. | 6/29/2009 |
| clogger96 | cute picture of the puppy! | 3/5/2009 |
| JRB | That picture is of a COCKER Spaniel - not a Boykin! A Boykin is a different color. (dark/chocolate brown - NOT golden like the picture). Furthermore, the BSS was founded to become the AKC parent club and have the breed become an AKC recognized breed. The BSS was twice told that their records were not ready for AKC recognition which was over the span of several years. On the third time (and by that time a new board, officers and expanded membership) it was decided that they would not become AKC but remain independently operated. You can contact the BSS directly for confirmation that they have attempted AKC recognition for their organization at the beginnings of their development. It was only after they gave up the pursuit that the BSCBAA was formed. The breed is now in the AKC Misc. group and is poised to become a fully recognized breed in the AKC in January 2010. | 6/28/2008 |
