Harv yeh..., really, people do notice if you're not smiling tomorrow...., and find it annoying, yes... ):
If only we were taught how to handle these difficulties, that some people have. If nobody was afraid to step in and say, that maybe they cannot relate, but they sure will try to understand - and listen!
