I have an issue with the Skipper representing 2 sins. It just ruins the continuity of the symbolism. Then there is the problem of people using Gilligan's red shirt as evidence to his role as the devil. During the Medieval era, in which the seven deadly sins played such an eminent role, the color GREEN was more often associated with the devil. Red as an "evil" color is a much more modern concept. Of course, I am sure others will argue, that since the series is relatively modern, the use of red is understandable. However, I still think that to make the argument "correct," each of the 7 characters would need to be a deadly sin in and of himself. |

I can say with great pride that I've seen every episode of Gilligan's Island at least 20 times, and that this theory is absolutely, without question, correct. |

Gilligan is SATAN.
I love it. This is a more than accurate depiction of the team on Gilligan's Island. If we delve even further into the equation... we can call the island Hell by proper name. |

So that's why Gilligan always wore that red shirt. Now I understand why he always screws it up for everyone whenever they have an opportunity to be rescued. Will it ever end? Most likely not. |

I read in a tabloid years ago that Mrs. Howell was gluttony due to her excesses--jewelery, finer things, etc. Skipper was anger, leaving Gilligan to be sloth or laziness. There were times that he slept on the job. I disagree with this one too, Gilligan did all of the work. |
