Stephen Fixter Hello Gaynor,
Good article, I agree that internet shopping is becoming more popular as it gives busy people the opportunity to shop without having to drive from place to place. If you know exactly what you want then the internet is a great place to check prices and compare. Having parcels delivered to your door can be exciting. If you don’t know what you want then shopping at the mall is a good way to spend time (time; most people complain about the lack of time these days) wondering around and looking, getting ideas, bargains and enjoying being away from the normal work environment.
As a passionate weekend chef I don’t think that I will buy food from the internet, as part of the pleasure I get cooking for my family and friends is to enjoy choosing fresh ingredients, the look, feel and smell inspires me. I have also had many great discussions with the people who work in food stores, its surprising and interesting what they do outside of their work place. Therefore, the internet is great in lots of ways but I feel that as a society we are loosing are ability to really connect with people and the art of conversation.
