bella i would recommend a male dog. i have had several dogs in my life and i have realized that female dogs, no matter what breed are somewhat "snotty" at times and can be very tempermental. i have owned breeds from pittbulls to chihuahas. the females have always been brats(: 8/8/2009
Elise Personally I think a male is better. Just because if you do not get your female spayed you constantly have to deal with her being in heat and keeping the males away from her. I have dealed with that before. My male dog he is agressive towards people, but so is my female dog and there isn't really a big difference. But my male dog was much easier to housetrain than my female. But their both great and fun to play with! :)) 3/4/2009
