"historian" It's not necessery to say Europe because it's ONLY European term. Middle-Ages and Medieval are terms invented by renaissance people when they talked about time between antique times and new age (renaissance) with (after their opinion) no valuable culture. There are own terms for pre-modern times in other cultures 3/27/2010

yes I'm picky!! When you refer to medieval hairstyles i think you mean medieval Europe. But u should specify that. Europe was not the only one with a medieval period. There was also Japan and China. Also, most strands of hair were given to lovers, not really a polite gesture. 3/5/2008
