janie well guess i need to tell you the truth about the way i felt about pitbull's i allways said i would never ever get a pit bull dog because of what i read & herd the meda say about thes poor animals how ruthless and and thay were fighting dogs so thats what i thought... but how wrong i was...about these dogs & i'm so sorry.. but i got a chance to be a proud owner of a baby pit terrior we named him rosco & we are so in love with him all the things i read about this breed makes me so proud to have my lil rosco and wish other people would give pitbulls a chance , great dog's & theres another breed i love & will allways love the germanshepard... 8/18/2010
T. Norris I had used the American Pit Bull Terriers as hunters and pets. They always loving and gentle to my
kids as any other breed, such as labradors and golden retrievers. Use the pit bulls to hold down the
wild boar and keep wild felines at bay. You have a good hunting breed and loyal friend after the hunt. I worry more about my kids being around Rottweillers and Chows instead of Pit Bulls.

KLC I have a mix breed pit bull, possibly mixed with a lab. His markings and facial features are that of the pit bull terrier. We rescued him at the age of 14 weeks. He showed little aggression at first. As a first time pet owner, we took complete control over every action he made. We stayed consistent and strict. Today, he is 10 months old at 57pounds. He is extremely obedient and excellant with the kids. We are blessed to have him. As with any breed of dog, we watch him carefully while playing with the kids. We also require certain restrictions on the children to avoid any sudden fear that could trigger a response or bite. Taking the proper training techniques and staying consistent with the dog and other people has proven a successful training method . The trouble is trying to make others understand the misled reputation of the pit bull. 2/22/2008
