KLC I have a mix breed pit bull, possibly mixed with a lab. His markings and facial features are that of the pit bull terrier. We rescued him at the age of 14 weeks. He showed little aggression at first. As a first time pet owner, we took complete control over every action he made. We stayed consistent and strict. Today, he is 10 months old at 57pounds. He is extremely obedient and excellant with the kids. We are blessed to have him. As with any breed of dog, we watch him carefully while playing with the kids. We also require certain restrictions on the children to avoid any sudden fear that could trigger a response or bite. Taking the proper training techniques and staying consistent with the dog and other people has proven a successful training method . The trouble is trying to make others understand the misled reputation of the pit bull. 2/22/2008
