Joe Claudia, you have made a very embarrassing mistake in this article. Their is no Wade Giles emperor. You have incorrectly copied and interpreted text that refers to the Wade Giles Romanization / Transliteration, not the emperor's name. 10/7/2008
Claudia Wudiemperor of Han dynasty Wade-Giles romanization Wu-ti , original name Liu Che born 156 bc died March 29, 87 bc posthumous name (shi) of the autocratic Chinese emperor (141–87 bc) who vastly increased the authority of the Han dynasty (206 bc–ad 220) and extended Chinese influence abroad. He made Confucianism the state religion of China. 7/31/2008
Ken Err... Wade Giles is not the Hongwu Emperor. Wade Giles is a romanization system for the transcription of Chinese. I think you got confused since you didn't know what Wade Giles was and probably since they list Wade Giles next to the names to show what system of romanization they used. Therefore you should correct that. Not to mention, no Chinese emperor would be mainly known as Wade Giles. 5/19/2008
