S. Schneider Here is what we did for my daughters Sweet 16 party. We had a Black out party. Everyone came in black. We bought as many glow sticks as we could find. I purchased several black lights. The kids put on the glow stick and tied them to stings so they could spin them in the dark. We had the music going and the kids took turns making shapes in the dark. We had a muscle contest with over sized shirts and balloons. We had some friends come in and do a few dance routines. The neon balloons also glowed with the black light. My daughter had brought her guitar so we talked her into playing and singing a song she had wrote. 2/11/2010
Kathy Marker Those sound really fun! When my daughter turned 16, I sold some things to get $100, which was enough in our small town to rent a limo for 2 hours. We were able to put a banner and balloons on the outside of the car before school. We had printed out some stickers with her name and '16th birthday' on them, to pass out at school, so many people, including teachers, were wearing them all day. After school, her friends walked her out to the parking lot, where the limo driver was holding a sign that had her name on it (like they do in the movies, as they wait for important people at the airport). My daughter and her friends piled into the car,where we had prestocked some sparkling cider, glasses, and junk food to eat; plus some balloons that they batted around. They had fun driving around, and picked up a few other friends along the way from other schools. Their favorite stop was when they went through a drive-thru to buy a pizza. It was great! They ended up at our house for a friend and family BBQ, before the friends played some Guitar Hero. We had a scavenger hunt planned, but they didn't do that. We had printed out some personalized covers to wrap around chocolate bars, to hand out as party favors. 9/15/2009
Taylor I'm turning sixteen in about a month and no offense I wouldn't want any of these. A couple CDs or maybe a few new articles of clothing would be a better route in my opinion. 8/15/2009
