| JJM | I certainly hope you realize the photo of a female priest is improper. Females are not meant to preach the gospel or lead the church. This is common knowledge (i hope). | 10/12/2011 |
| wesleyprabhu | yes this is the timely message. good | 3/5/2011 |
| Wade Balsdon | The bible is very clear about receiving when you give. I have never read anything about motives and giving in the bible. The only reference that I know of is that God loves a cheerful giver. Now if I cheerfully give and cheerfully expect to get back what is wrong with that? | 2/23/2011 |
| Carlos Kyle, TX | I think you are right on everything you said. | 12/3/2010 |
| Brad | Wants us to prosper economically? Doesn't it mention giving away everything to the poor? | 8/17/2010 |
| jawad eltaki | I am not christian but i believe completely in what you say. people give to churches expecting good deeds but the better thing to do is give to someone in desperate need, it might be a friend or relative with financial issues or, better yet, to an orphan | 5/3/2010 |
| michael | True ,but after much study and revelation I now see tithing as legalism and its not based on our righteousness as a free gift from Jesus finished work. We give from the heart freely with love , not under obligation, and false teachings appealing to the soul for benefits and this deceptive teaching the mix of law with giving is blinding christians to the true freedom. In fact this teaching hinders believers receiving revelation which leads to laying down ownes life and giving as a act of love insoired by faith, and thanksgiving toward God for his gift of the Son. Even giving should come by faith and not to get back ,because in Christ all has been given to the believer. So what more do you need? If you offer your body as a living sacrifice Roman 12 you have given God all He requires. And if you ask anything according to His will He hears you and you have it ! .Yes according to His Will His Kingdom Vision .Building the true Kingdom (saved souls) Building the True Church. This whole manipulative money grab which seems to be just that is a discrace, if leaders are doing this and really cannot offer any New Test evidence that it is a biblical requirement, well as they say we all wil one day give an account .Personally I would never teach tithing, as if a person has Holy Spirit well go ask God he has already said he will teach us all things. | 4/21/2010 |
| David | "The true givers are those who faithfully give in membership and tithe as a sacrifice, without the promise of return." Not true, that's not what Jesus said, nor is that anything like what God said. The bible says that when we give, we should expect a harvest. However, that shouldn't be our FINAL intention. Our will is to sow the Blessing of God into other people's lives and reap a good harvest. Why? So that we can sow more; it's a continual cycle. By the way, I love the prosperity message because it's what God's plan is for us. God created us to be special and, yes, to live in absolute extravagance. Why don't people read the bible and observe how God lives? And Galatians says that I'm an heir to his throne and that God is my daddy thank you very much. You can't have what you preach against. If you preach against the prosperity message, it's simple, you ain't gettin it. Preach against living in extravagance, it's simple, you ain't getting that either. |

| Tressa | That sounds along the right track, but can you give more verses? | 10/9/2009 |
| Jenny | Sister, I agree with what you have written. The late Kenneth Hagin Sr. also touches on the same thing in "the Midas Touch" a balanced biblical teaching on a subject that has caused so much confusion. | 9/11/2008 |
| Lucy | I completely agree with your message. Like with so many things today, the people take a simple message and twist it and turn it to what we want it to be. The only saving grace for some of these mega-ministries or big time televangelist will be at the judgement when their actions are weighed and what they have truly done to help and share their prosperity. May you continue to be blessed. | 7/13/2008 |
| Dawn | I completely agree with Ms. Maldonado's opinion! I'm sitting her listening to a t.v. evangelist speak about prosperity...yet I have not heard that we are to bless with the blessings. Thank you for your well written article. | 6/24/2008 |
| Mary Schminky | Great article. I wish more people had that view point. I understand that the ministries who travel all the time want their own airplane, but give me a break on having gold plumbing fixtures and $23,000 toilets. Good scripture reference in Acts. Matthew 6;33, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." He is always faithful to meet our needs and alot of our wants. If you have Him first, you want to share with others. | 4/14/2008 |
| Larry | Many do not know-haven't heard, pursued, ignored, feared-that salvation is an eternal whole man regeneration. Salvation is prosper and success in spirit, soul, and flesh. It is the abundant life. It includes more than we ask, think, imagine. It is the natural and supernatural. Present and eternal. Now and forever. To prosper is not to be feared. All regenerated people can handle prosper and success. I am defining Biblical spiritual success, not the English dictionary definition. Blessed, fruitful, multiply, subdue, dominion over earth creation. To abound. To bless the world. To fulfill the promises of God. To live free and fit. Full of faith and faithful. To send and support the gospel to the nations of the world for the coming King and Kingdom. It is unselfish success and does not have to be feared. It is in spiritual dna, new nature, heir, inheritance. That is NOW and THEN. ...then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success...AMEN |
