Mrs. T Had this procedure done one month ago from yesterday, while the everything went fine, light bleeding on and off for the last month and some mild cramping, I now have a very heavy period. Almost woke my husband last night to take me to the hospital. I am reading more about it now, silly me. If you have endometreosis, don't do it, it won't work! 2/12/2011
Christine I have to get a Uterine Ablation. I have been bleeding for 3 months 12/14/2010
Lydia B. I trusted my doctor when he said the uterine ablation would work for my heavy periods, severe cramps and blood clots. Well, it was a complete failure for me! I am in my first period after surgery and have been in bed for two days with terrible cramps, quarter size clots and heavy bleeding! I would not throw my money away again to have a repeat procedure! 11/11/2010
Jennifer Hello everyone...I have read all the stories and questions that you have wrote. All should know, the Endometrial Ablation may not work for some, as it does for others. As most medical treatments.

I had the surgery in 2007, it was an out-patient procedure at my doctors discreetion. The time from check-in to check-out...roughly 6 hours (this including recovery time). My doctor also recommended a Tubaligation at the same time, to prevent the slight chance of conception. My overall experience with the Endometrial Ablation, was perfect. It done just what was expected from it; the risks were minimal; nothing Ibuprophen couldn't handle; and no more cycles.

There is a slight chance of conceiving, which is why the patient is requested to an alternate method of BC. One should consult their Gynecologist, if having any doubts, questions, or fears as to which is best for them.

Deb I had the Uterine Ablation done 2 yrs ago. Have not been sexually active until now. Can not take birth control. Is it it possible for me to get pregnant? The Dr had said that I would need to still have to have my overies taken out to prevent pregnancy. If no Uterius how can the egg attach to anything? 7/9/2010
Kelly I am 29 and had an ablation 1 week ago as an alternative to hysterectomy. The procedure went quite well however since then I have had episodes of pains (not cramps) similar to how I felt when I went into labor with my son. I have to breath through them in order to get releif- I was told that I may need to just rest and even though it helps- rest assured that I will start having "contractions" ( for lack of a better word ) again after sitting or standing for a while. What is up with this ? It was explained as a "simple procedure" I have also had a headache for 2 days- is this normal ? My doctor seems to think it is- should I get a second opinion ? ? ? 7/1/2010
Donna If you are having heavy, and irregular cycles, this is the best option. I wish I cvould have done it years ago! I feel so much better. I have my life back. I had no problems at all! If your thinking about it, it is wroth it! I would recmmend this to everyone. 6/29/2010

Kelsey MY procedure was done in the hospital I was put to sleep General anestesia Would not tell in one to have the procedure done in a DR. Office! Seriously question your Dr. If the plan does not involve the hospital. It was a out patient surgery I arrived at 6am home by 11am I have a 2week follow up with my doctor. I plan to go back to work on Monday and was given a discharge plan/instructions from my Dr. 4/22/2010

sharon After ablation, there may not be a cycle. Is this a normal thing or not? Do you have to have a cycle for cleansing monthly? 2/25/2010
barb can i get pregnant afer a uterine ablation at age 51. what are the chances of concieving. 11/9/2009
Lisa M I had the procedure done right in the doctor's office almost a year ago. It wasn't too bad, but he had problems completly numbing me, therefore there were a few seconds of intense pain. However, after the discharge period was over (about 2 weeks for me), it has been a dream. I still get cramps, but no period. However, each month the cramps are less and less. I highly recommend the proceudre instead of full surgery. 10/2/2009
Jamie Once this is done. Are periods lessened in length and amount or absent completely? Can the lining regrow? Does this make the woman sterile? 7/15/2009
Tess T I had an ablation in March and I have been continuing to have periods. They weren't bad but the last one lasted 11 days of light bleeding but I am up to tampons now. Everyone is telling me it didn't work. I got an IUD also afterwards and that has not help either. 8/18/2008
Mrs. "B" I'm trying to decide wether to have uterine ablation or vaginal hysterectomy.Uterine Ablation sounds great, due to short time being off from work, but I'm afraid of the risks.Hysterectomy sounds safe, but will need to be off from work at least 6wks. 2/13/2008
missy I had a uterine ablation and have lost my libido...I have not seen the Dr. since the surgery followup but I have little desire for sex anymore
and I am dry. Does anyone know why this has happened?
