Boy van Rensbur Yes, I agree that bumble bees are a pleasure to have in a garden - however, I discovered that they are boring their nests in my wood roof truss ends - found 19 holes of about 8mm in dia. In time, I accept that the dammage these bumble bees are causing will set me back if I don't do anything about it. Has anyone out there have a remedy for me? 2/3/2012

Sandy Very usefull information. My dog likes to chase bumble bees and bite at them. If one gets away, she will bark at it. I didn't think they stung, which is why I looked them up. Guess the pup was lucky so far as I know she has bitten two of the very large bees. The article did make me feel more friendly towards the bees and I will try to keep my pup away from them. 5/25/2010
