Champix - How champix works and safe to use?

For smokers, Champix is like an anchor, which supports them in smoking cessation process. It is very difficult to quit smoking and smokers and their relatives and friends are quite aware of that.

David Champix is great. Although I've never tried any other perscription medications to help me quit smoking (Zyban), this definitely did it for me as I've previously experimented with NRT's. I think the best thing about it is that you gradually increase the dose from 50mg once a day to 100mg tabs twice a day. Although its recommended you quit in the first two weeks, I was able to quit in the first few days. I tried having a cigarette after a few days and it literally tasted like burning cardboard (not like I've tasted burning cardboard).

Some side effects I got were headaches, nausea and exhaustion. By the time I was taking Champix twice a day I felt like I've dreamt all night long but this only lasted about 4 nights and then the dreams gradually subside. If I knew before hand that I'd feel so tired when starting on Champix I probably would have started it on the weekend and taken Monday and or Tuesday off work but oh well.

To sum up, I'm smoke free and the side-effects (personally speaking) were perhaps just above medim (not bad enough to be extreme) but well worth it as your body gets used to the effect of the drug and the side-effects subside rather quickly. I've been smoking for 10 years and trying to quit for at least 6 hard years and I've finally met my match!

I will be telling all my friends and family that smoke to ask their doctors if Champix would suit them as it's worked very well for me. Thank you Pfizer and thank you Champix :-)		 8/5/2009
lorraine I have smoked for about 35 years and have tried every method there is with no success until now.I am on my 5th week of being a non smoker and loving it.I have even been around smokers and have no desire to even sneak a puff . Champix Your THE BEST 8/20/2008
