Kirsty I suffer with low progesterone, which is a direct knock on effect from in inactive thyroid. There are many more symptons of low progesterone the bigest one mental wellbeing often women with low progesterone suffer foggy head, feelings of depression alone with menopause like symptoms etc.

I have used natural progesterone and it is a safer altenative than a chemical formulated one. I had no issues at all outside of feeling a lot better in myself and in my health.
I think today we are forced by Doctors to take medicine which are out dated, known to cause further problems and that actually mask the problem instead of fixing it, e.g. taking the pill for heavy periods doesnt fix just masks the problem.

Dont be fooled by the title, my doctor pretty much backs up what is in this book if you read you will be amazed at some of the info and possibly re think how you view synthetic hormones.

There are so many options my suggestion would be don't take the first pill offered to you, get a second opinion, ask heaps of questions like why, what for, benefits, alternatives, long term effects		 6/9/2011

Sara I have a lot of symptoms of low progesterone. I always had irregular periods and had low blood sugar. I began taking a contraceptive for 6 months, when I left the "pill" my periods were regular for only 4 months, then they just stopped. A vaginal sonogram showed various immature follicles, possible PCOS. I heard about taking Vitex, a natural supplement and it took some months but for the first time in my life my periods are regular. debra phippen i strongly disagree with your comments on th ineffectiveness of progesterone cream. i have used a topical chemist formulated cold cream containing progesterone for many years in order to regulate my menstrual cycle. it worked wonders! ingestion of progesterons by any other means involves digestion in th stomach & processing by th liver. th result is that only a fraction ( less than a third) of th original progesterone dosage actually reaches th ovaries! Dr.Lee from Th USA has vompiled a doctors pack & other information which is available to educate your doctor, through th Natural Progesterone network. Dont let medically trained, narrow minded doctors (& gynaes) tell u there is nonother way, because i am one of many who has experienced a much better alternative! 3/28/2010

senga maclean i have terrible pmt, since i had my daughter, i was put on anti-depressants, but did not like the idea of this so i came off them, the pmt did get alot worse, symtomsp were rely bad panick attacks, extreme ight sweats, insomnia, irritability, bad depression, and i could have done somehting relly bad if ididnt get help fast...my doc has now put me on yasmin, so im waiting to see if this helps, hope , as i cant live like this any longer... 3/14/2010
marian That is the best information i have read as i have been having all those symptons and not one doctor has advised me to be tested for low progesterone.spotting 4-5 days before my period starts...have been trying to fall pregnant for 5 months. 3/12/2010

Alfred Women who have low levels of progesterone often have infertility problems and when they do conceive, they are at a higher risk for miscarriage. You may have low progesterone levels if you have any of these symptoms: 2/16/2010
Bev thanks you for a great article, i am now on a progesterone cream, im praying that this will be the answer to all the symptoms i have being depression at times more low self esteem certain times of my cycle and terrible mood swings (personality change) weight gain and i do follow an exercise program, so not loosing weigh make me more depressed...well lets hope this cream will work. Brenda There's a lot more to low progesterone than getting pregnant. If your body is off on the levels of hormones it should have, there are a lot of symptoms, including low energy and just feeling like crap. The best way to test it is through saliva testing, not blood testing. 10/1/2009
