The Bush administration was blamed for the high prices when he was President so now whats going to be the excuse ? Obama spent more money in the first 100 days in office than any President. |

The price of gas has increased dramatically this week here Western Pennsylvania. The average gas price for a gallon of regular gas was $2.09 on Monday May 1st. It went up $.08 Tuesday. Then by Friday it was $2.29 a gallon ! This is insane. What could have caused it to jump 20 cents in lest than 5 days ? Are we supposed to just sit back and let this happen ? We should ban together Nationally on the internet and hold a GAS OUT for weekend. They did it and the prices started to drop dramatically. |

LOL I meant economic crisis and not prices. However, that is the true reason why gas prices dropped. And you can check this out on how the oil stock is doing. It will go up again when consumer confidence grows, however it will never be as high as it was. Bottom line they need to take it off the stock market |

I agree with the supply and demand theory. Howevers, due to de-regulation oil got to become a commodity, and hence sold on the stock market. Rich people in the oil industry were allowed to buy large shares of the stock in the oil industry and elect to not sell. This produces what is called an artificial demand on oil. Hence, Now that Obama is president (bearing in mind and not like Bush that makes money off of high gas prices) he will find alternate sources of energy, coupled with the economic prices, investors pulled thier money out of oil stock. This is what caused the gas prices to fall. Let's face it, demand on gas has never changed. I buy the same amount of gas to drive to work and to where I want to go since when gas was 88 cents. The only difference is that stock holders sold thier stocks in gas. In other word imagine a pie chart. Stock holders buy 75% of the gas that is produced and elect to not sell. Since only 25% of the gas available can be sold, the price of gas can be inflated (artificial demand). Now that investors are pulling out of gas, maybe only 30% of gas is in the stocks, which means oil companies have 70%, of gas that needs to be sold. Law of supply and demand kicked in and now gas prices dropped. Don't be fooled, the Bush administration knows what was going on, they are the main people behind de-regulation |

Another main reason gas has become so expensive is because of the rapid devaluation of the US dollar. If you look at the fed. reserve's statistics, gas prices have exponentially increased along with the exponential devaluation of the US dollar. Gas prices haven't become that much more expensive, but rather the value of America's money has deterioated. One American dollar today is only worth $0.61 cents of what it was in 1997. Thanks to the Federal Reserve drastically lowering interest rates and printing off money from thin air, inflation has driven up gas prices. Just like the stagflation Germany experienced in the 1920's, when it costs over a million of their dollars for a loaf of bread! America is beginning to experience a similar, although not as extreme, of a situation as Germany once did. |

Americans are to blame for high gas prices. Exxon paid $30 billion dollars in taxes for 2007 and recently became Fortune 500’s 2nd most profitable business behind Wal-Mart. And Exxon has no one else to thank but the greedy American. High gas prices have nothing to do with Exxon, Mobil or any other U.S. oil company. High gas prices are due to the high oil prices established by commodity traders who trade based on supply and demand. This is where basic economics comes into play; if demand becomes greater than supply than prices increase; and if supply becomes greater than demand prices decrease. Americans are the largest consumer of oil. Our undeniable need for the biggest houses and the biggest cars is one of the main contributors towards higher gas prices. Our need for oil increased so much that supply couldn’t keep up with our greed. So for you Americans paying over $100.00 to fill up your Escalade and thousands of dollars per year to heat your 3,000 sq ft home or pool, don’t blame anyone else for the high gas prices but yourselves. |

lol , this is funny as heck, oil prices are only 2x high per barrel as it was 10 tears ago and yet it cost 4x more at the pumps... ya cant tell me oil is gettin harder to find either, i worked in the oil patch for 15 years. only 1 of ten producing wells drilled were even opened. the rest were capped off for later use. Most wells have a ten year life span |

My commit is that gas anymore is just way to high to even get out and drive you can bearly afford groceries to because as well as gas the prices are going up on mostly everything... For $4.00 a gallon for regular Gas and $5.00 a gallon almost for Diesel fuel it's just so outrageous how much people are spending on all of this gas I know I da the same but It shouldn't have to be like this... Thanks, High School Student named Lisa |

Why doesn't the government find a way to clean all the dirty oil that automotive technicians change? Wouldn't finding a way to recycle oil help reserve oil and be healthier for the environment. Can't scientist use their resources for cleaning oil instead of trying to get more and raise up the oil and gas prices. |

I dont believe all that ,Because ever since this president Bush took office and started this war in Iraq we have had nothing but gas hikes for reasons such as our our oil refineries are down and need repairs, our oil reserves in the USA are low and we need to top them off,So lets raise the gas prices to a record high. Come on ,Why is it that before this President the gas prices where stable and true for years? Yes its understandable that prices of crude oil rises just as any other consumer item rises.Heres one for you.Why is that gas prices go sky high on memorial day when people are traveling to see loved ones and visit grave sites? Because people will pay those prices no matter the cost!and thats where we are caught in the snare of the system! either you pay to play or sit out of the game! My field of work encludes traveling to job sites up to 60 miles from my home each day which cost me now at $100.00 per week! I feel for the minimum wage people! |

LOOK EVERYONE! I used to be just like you! I did not know what was going on in the world and couldn't care less about politics. I saw some information that I had a hard time believing and I tried my hardest to debunk it. If you really want to know what is going on then please listen to me. I am not trying to sell anything at all. This is not a trick. This is like taking the "Red Pill" from The Matrix. Please follow my directions and you will finally understand that our dollar isn't worth anything to the foreign oil companies. Our dollar is worth less and less. The price of oil per barrel has not gone up in price, our dollar has gone down in value. Look at the price of gold! When gold goes up our dollar goes down. Go to "Youtube" and type in CFR/NAU. Watch that video then google "Endgame" and watch that video. Next "Loosechange911", and then "Zeitgeist". Once you have watched these you will feel like you got a 10 year education on our world. Lastly look up on "Youtube" IT's A BIG IDEA! The Ron Paul rEVOLution IS UPON US! JULY 12. Google TERRORSTORM if you have time also. Peace to all, we have to stick together to get through this one. |

Demand $2 a Gallon Gas
Oil was $127 a barrel recently.
Germany fought WWII with synthetic fuel from coal. America, with 1/3rd of Earth’s coal, can be independent of foreign oil for an estimated $55 a barrel, including the infrastructure and labor force necessary to operate plants. It is proven technology.
Synfuels are cleaner burning than gasoline and carbon sequestration can remove CO2.
Furthermore, reducing our trade imbalance keeps jobs in America. Every billion of trade deficit costs 13,000 jobs. $400 billion for oil last year: do the math.
And we stop sending billions to countries that sponsor terrorism.
Harness your anger at the pump. Call you're US Senators and demand they break ground on America's energy independence by encouraging an American synthetic fuel industry in this decade. If you don’t raise your voice the oil companies and politicians will assume you are ready to pay even more. |

i think we should start using the oil that we have in the untied states and make other countries start paying us for the oil that they are using. i believe that will lower the gas prices for us. |

What I think is this: I went to Padre Island, Texas last week. I have been going since I was a child. At that time, you really didn't see to many offshore oil rigs. As the times moved on, offshore rigs started popping up; later on they started to literally grow like weeds. When I went to the coast last week (Padre Island), I noticed that the rigs were all gone. I think that the Katrina and Rita Hurricane theory maybe a little true. But, I still think that the government (small case for a reason) is in on it some how. Think about how much the government is making off the gas tax everyday. Think about it. |

I'm not sure who is considered when you say "largely dismissed." Scientists from universities, such as the California Institute of Technology, have written about the peak oil problem. Why is this idea contentious. It is well established where oil comes from and how is is created, and we all know that it is not a substance (unlike wood) that renews itself in a relatively short period of time. Is the theory contentious because we believe there are large pools of oil left in the world that we have not found and used? There is not much evidence that such sources exist. And even if peak oil is not the direct cause of high oil prices today, people have to realize that there will come a time, possibly very soon, when we do run out of oil. |

I think everyone that says gas prices are higher due to demand are full of crap. Its the oil companies lining their pockets. If you look at a report of the top ten companies, 3 of the top 5 are gas companies. |

The only way for gas prices to go down is if everyone stops buying it. our dollar is weak. No body has seen anything yet. people cant even afford to buy food because of the price for gas. It makes me sick. But lets go to Iraq to help those people out before our own??????? O lets not forget bush owns oil. So hes makeing a pretty penny. Another thing why cant we use our reserves in Alaska? I guess they rather see our people go without food or homes. Good O bush. HE IS A ASS. But hes not the only stupid one. O theres so many!! |

Most people have to get to work using their cars but you really do not have to FLY.. If everyone boycotted the airlines around the globe it would put a serious dent in fuel consumption and let the world know we are not going to put up the the gouging.. |
