Why I Believe Abortion Should Be Legal, Safe, and Rare

If we want a society that is truly free and truly responsible for all its members then abortion must be legal and safe. If abortion foes truly want to stop abortions then they should work on addressing the root causes of abortion -- poverty, abuse, and lack of opportunity. The more we do to give women freedom of choice and control over their lives then the rarer abortion will be. Then everyone wins.

Shai I totally agree with you! I believe that abortion should be legal and a choice for women. That way, if they choose to have their child, they're just a little bit happier for it, rather than feeling resentful because they were forced into it by the circumstance of not being allowed to abort.
And I think that if these pro-lifers were truly pro-life, they would hold the lives of the living just as sacred as the fetuses. If they did that, there would be a lot less poverty in the world.		 6/13/2009
Kayla, 8 grade Abortion is murder to an unborn child who could have so much potential, but the abortion steals all of that away. That child could end world hunger or even global warming! But all that is taken away by one woman who chose to end an innocent one's life instead of giving it hope. Abortion should be illegal and it is wrong. Abi :] I think abortion should be legal because if a girl is a victim of rape and her body can't handle a baby she should be able to live. yes, it is wrong, but what if it was life or death for the girl? What if she was not able to handle having a kid and she was rapped? What if incest was a problem and she was rapped by her brother or father than what? Robin Everyone is allowed to an opinoin that I can agre but I also agree that a woman should have choice in if she wants to give life or not but remind you that this decision can be made before conception begins.It is irresponsible to not to protect this decision and murder a helpless child in pur modern day socity where there are birth controls, patches,and iud's that can prevent murder we still have this problem.This is laziness, lack of good judgement, and now you want others to feel bad for people who can not feel bad for something that is a part of themselves...Help out a couple who does not have the chance to act stupidly and do adoption, have mercy and act humane you no longer have to do this, this is no different from murder. My intent is not to make others feel bad but to get my point across about and educate others.

Val giving women FULL RIGHTS to have abortions, and not hindering them in any way, is somehow going to DIMINISH the number of abortions per year? i dont get it. 1/7/2009
