Lupus can be extremely difficult to diagnose in the early stages due to its creepy onset. The early symptoms of lupus vary individually as the first symptoms depend upon the organ affected. Getting hold of a good physician who may either be a rheumatologist or a dermatologist is of utmost importance for not being called hypochondriacs and being treated wrongly.

Jennifer Lupus runs in my family, my Nana has it and my Dad had it. I’m 16 years old, and 2 years ago I was tested for it "just in case." I wasn’t showing any symptoms, or anything. For a while now I’ve been hurting (my mom knows) and I sleep every chance I can. I’m on medication already (we found out in 7th grade that I’m bipolar and that I have depression) and even though I am very smart; at times I just can’t respond. It’s not that I don’t understand, it’s more that I’m "zoning out" and I can’t tell when people are talking to me when that happens. I know that it’s not the medication because I’ve been on them for a while now (over two years). I just don’t know if I should get tested for it again… 4/13/2009
Jennie I have a sibling that has has lupus since he was 14-years old. I want to know if someone can tell me what to expect in his final stage. I love my brother and I want to know what I can do. 10/15/2008

Some investigations need to be done which the rheumatologist will best evaluate after seeing the patient and prescribe accordingly		 1/31/2008
