Carla G. What is the longest time one can suffer for their first outbreak of Lupus. I have been very sick since January. Finally diagnosed with SLE in March. Have begun, have been taking Hydroxychloroquine and Prednisone since March. Still in constant pain, joints, hands are unbearable and bone pain in hips that burn at night making it impossible to sleep for long time. Ulcers in my mounth, nose and one eye that set me back for weeks. Also a sun flare, where I felt I was in third degree burn pain and have constant dry mouth. No saliva available naturally at all. Could you tell me the length of time that I can look forward to for my SLE to go into remission? Could this last this bad for a year or more? Thank you for any advice you can give me. 6/25/2010

Jennifer Lupus runs in my family, my Nana has it and my Dad had it. I’m 16 years old, and 2 years ago I was tested for it "just in case." I wasn’t showing any symptoms, or anything. For a while now I’ve been hurting (my mom knows) and I sleep every chance I can. I’m on medication already (we found out in 7th grade that I’m bipolar and that I have depression) and even though I am very smart; at times I just can’t respond. It’s not that I don’t understand, it’s more that I’m "zoning out" and I can’t tell when people are talking to me when that happens. I know that it’s not the medication because I’ve been on them for a while now (over two years). I just don’t know if I should get tested for it again… 4/13/2009

Dr Meenaz Dear Jenay
Get hold of an expert rheumatologist in Western Cape.
Some investigations need to be done which the rheumatologist will best evaluate after seeing the patient and prescribe accordingly
