It's perfect. I know that empty feeling too well. I lost my son Sept. 28th 2006 he was only 17 years old ... people say it gets easier with time but it doesn't ... I still cry and miss him something awful... I pray that your emptiness don't stay with you too long... It sounds like you two were really good friends ... keep those memories fresh .. i know how you feel. a month ago me, my best friend, and another friend were coming home from going out to eat. my friend was speeding and we got in a car accident.. the driver walked away while i broke my neck and i'm in a halo now and my best friend is dead. it still doesn't seem real.. it's so unfair. he was only 18, a senior in highschool, an amazing athlete, he had so much to live for. i miss him so much, not a day goes by that i don't think about him. he even asked me to prom that night, he was always there to make me feel better and he would always tell me we were going to get married one day. always tell the person how you really feel, you never know when something like this is going to happen. so i can really relate to your poem.. i like it. |

this sort of what happened to me but my best friend wasnt just a friend, or a best friend, she was also family. the person that i had lost was my auntie, she was my best aunt or shall i say the best aunt that i/ anyone could ever have , she was always sticking up for me, always on my side, and i had saw her the day befor she had past , and other than the people that were already living with her me and my grandma were the first 1s to arrive to help her and to say our goodbyes, theres nothing that oi regret because i was always respectful to her , but i think that the only thing that i would regret was not eating all of my food when she took us out to eat , and ever since (she), my best friend had past away i make sure that i finish my food. :( :( :] |

i just want to say thank you so much to every one who comments this!
it just recently made 2 yrs since my best friends death. its true life goes on every day, but i cant help but looking back on the days he was still here with me. that guy meant the world to me. people can rarely say they have met their true love, but i had and he knew it, he knew it was him just like i was his. today its easier for me to talk about what is between those lines. anyhow. i am turely greatful and for ever i will be for all of your support. i mean it. i understand your words as almost 3 years ago i lost my husband and best friend in a logging accident. killed instantly they told me and now 3 years later i am so grateful for that news. my husband would not have wanted all of us left behind to see him suffer. it still hurts yet today and i miss him still. i am remarried to a terrific guy who is man enough to allow me to share my memories of my fist husband with him. i'm lucky. life does go on and so will you. Cathy, I read your letter in memory of your best friend and I know it had to be very difficult to write, I wrote a letter to my Mom when I knew she was going to lose her fight against cancer and it was very hard to do. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My best friend died June 16th 2007 and I miss her every day. I can totally understand what you are going through. At first it was the hardest thing I had ever been through and it still is hard. Some days I can't get her out of my mind. And it's not that I don't want to, it just hurts so bad to think of her. |

That made me cry! Im so sorry about your lose.
My best friend, David, was in a car accident Tuesday, and we had plans to hang out that night. His mother called me and asked me to write a story about him, like a memory or something. She said in 20 years, i'd be telling my parents all the crazy things I did as a teen and laughing. but in 20 years, she won't have her son. I literally stared at the blank piece of paper in front of me for 3 and a half hours, and i couldnt write anything. At his funeral, I handed her the paper and she began to cry. She gave me the tightest hug i've ever encountered and said "I've read many stories, but yours was by far the best." i miss him so much. |

i know how you feel but with me it was my 3 year old brother and i watched him get hit by a car but your poem was really good not many people can right like that and if you can the best thing to do is wright all you can wright. and life experiences are the best things to wright about cuz it helps you relieve stress, anger, sadness,..etc. |
