Single? What's WRONG with Him?

It's like they have a picture in their mind of me sitting at home every night in my underwear, in a room lit by candles, eating meatloaf flavoured ice-cream from a paper plate, with my pet rat Eugene on my shoulder, my feet in one of those foot spas, a little 'Enya' playing in the background and some strategically placed cushions with images of my ex-girlfriends embroidered on them, lying around the room.

Kizito I am 42 never married. I found this article after googling what a woman in my neighborhood told another girl that seemed interested in me but later became a prostitute. This most recent coulda or woulda be catch happened a few months ago. The friend of the one that had interest in me told her that something must be wrong with me for being single because I seem old." To help her may be cool her heat she introduced her to a young man they barely knew as they were with me without knowing that he was a pimp. What happened to that girl saddened many people. Maybe because that girl was interested in me had she been patient and given me enough time to know her it could have worked. But I wonder what is the character or personality of a girl that got deceived in three weeks and became a prostitute. Even if she didn’t know it at the beginning but toward the end she realized what was going on. Being weak or deceivable or having other people decide for you who to love is something that could have disappeared when married?
I respect married people most of them are happy and I came close to marriage twice. But to tell me that married people are happy and unmarried old people are unhappy is as funny as ridiculous.

confrmedbachelr I love this article! I'm a guy. I'm pushing 50. I've never married. I've never come close to it. And it's just fine with me. If I live 300 years, like this guy has, and never marry, that'll be just fine with me. 7/1/2009
K R Wow this is an interesting article. I agree with the majority of what is said.I too love being alone.I'll never forget the dream I had 1 afternoon while sleeping I dreant I got married and I was half awake when I realised that I thought it was the end of the world or something.I just saw a wedding ring on my finger and didn't know who I got married to,when and where.I began to breathe easier when I realised it was just a dream. I get some of the same comments about marriageand about not being able to have children when I am not interested in having any. If somehow I end up with them I'll accept it but I would go beyond the call to have them. 10/15/2008
