Adam M.	Yes, you can absolutely do the work yourself. Any company that tells you otherwise is not only lying, but acting illegally. However, there are plenty of things that I can do myself that I'd rather pay an expert to do. Sam	There are some credit repair companies that operate in the way described in the article, but it is a disservice to imply that there are no competent credit repair companies out there. I agree, you should avoid any credit repair company that disputes everything on your credit reports. Legitimate credit repair companies do not do this. Instead, they only dispute the items you specify and they create personalized dispute letters instead of using a single generic form letter. These services have worked very well for thousands of people who either did not want to spend the time working to repair their credit on their own or who, after trying credit repair themselves, found that often times it is not nearly as easy as many so called credit experts seem to believe.	9/9/2008
